MEDICINE HAT, AB, JULY 7, 2016 – In just one year, Medicine Hat will be hosting one of the most inspiring and exciting events, the 2017 Special Olympics Alberta Summer Games. Just a few days ago, Medicine Hat release their new brand identity that was developed by local student, Bailey McCann which will be the mark of Medicine Hat’s legacy of the Provincial Games and the legacy they are aiming for is to make it the best Special Olympics Alberta Summer Games the province has ever seen.

With over 1,400 athletes, coaches and mission staff from 25 Alberta communities and N.W.T. competing from July 7 to 9, 2017, Medicine Hat will be hosting the largest Special Olympics Alberta Summer Games. The Summer Games will feature 11 summer sports: 5-pin bowling, 10-pin bowling, athletics, basketball, bocce, golf, powerlifting, rhythmic gymnastics, soccer, softball and swimming.

Preparations are already underway with a strong Games Organizing Committee who are dedicated to producing a quality games experiences for athletes and fans. Special Olympics Alberta invites all to witness pure joy and follow the journey of your local athletes training and competing for a spot to be part of this great event.

2017 Special Olympics Alberta Summer Games- Medicine Hat
